Cornelius Merlini is currently CEO and Co-Founder of Intrinsic Health Group, LLC.  He has 30 years of operational and healthcare leadership in BioPharmaceutical, Med-Tech, consumer Health Products and Diagnostics.  Prior to founding Intrinsic Health Group, he was General Manager of Healthtronics Lab Solutions (HLS), a division of Endo Pharmaceutical.  In this capacity, he had responsibility for Commercialization, Operations, Medical and all Administration.  The molecular and anatomic pathology business thrived under Cornelius’s leadership and HLS was recognized as an industry leader in Uro-specialized pathology.

 

Before his leadership role at Endo, he was Senior Vice-President of Commercial Operations at Cord Blood Registry (CBR).  During his 4+ year tenure at CBR revenue doubled and net-income tripled.  He was co-founder of  the industry trade group, Association of Family Cord Blood Banks and lead the company compliance initiative, Principles in Action.  He also was a contributing supporter to the founding of the US Women’s Health Alliance, a collaboration of large OB/GYN group practices across the US.

 

Prior to CBR, Cornelius spent 10 years at Johnson & Johnson where he was Worldwide Vice-President of the Cardiovascular Franchise across BioPharmaceuticals.  In this position, he was responsible for the cardiovascular commercial organization.  He also  led the Therapeutic Area Operating Committee where he spearheaded a cross-functional team of senior J&J executives to drive a successful cardiovascular strategy; including, discovery, R&D, commercial and all business development and licensing efforts.  He also held several other leadership positions, including Executive Director of J&J’s Nutritional Franchise (Lactaid, Spenda, Benecol), leading the Rx-to-OTC switch effort of J&J*Merck’s Mevacor, and Segment Marketing for Pepcid AC.

 

Cornelius spent 10 years at Hoechst Marion Roussel, first as a sales representative for Marion Laboratories, then in sales management and product marketing in the cardiovascular franchise.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.  He has been married for 34 years and has four children and one grandchild.
