Dr. Philip Sasso is an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist at Abington Hospital. He has been an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist within Jefferson University Hospitals since 1995, when he completed his residency.

Prior to his tenure at Abington Hospital, Dr. Sasso completed an Internal Medicine residency and was boarded in Internal Medicine in 1991 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He serves as the Chairman of Anesthesia at Abington Hospital, a position he has held since 2012.

 

He is President of United Anesthesia Services, a company that consists of over 225 anesthesia providers that provides services to multiple hospitals in Southeastern Pennsylvania. He is the former president and current board member of Southeastern PA Pain Management, one of the larger pain management practices in Pennsylvania.

His present focus is utilizing alternative therapies and medications to limit the use of narcotic analgesics for acute and chronic pain management. He serves as a trustee of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
